Famous Furniture Bazaar
In 1977, Graham Barrow established Barrow Furnishings (A Division of Barrow Investments P/L) and commenced retailing furniture and soft furnishings in Ivanhoe , Victoria In 1985, seeing gaps in the furniture market, Graham expanded the business by commencing manufacturing furniture and did so very successfully until 1996. In 1987, noting the emerging trend in of furniture being imported from Asia, Graham undertook importing quality furniture from Malaysia and Thailand . Famous Furniture was established at this time as the wholesale arm of Barrow Investments P/L. During the period 1987 – 1996, the company increased importing substantially whilst manufacturing and retailing were wound back to the point that in 1996 it ceased manufacturing and retailing. Expanding the range whilst maintaining quality, has seen a consistent growth in the business. Famous Furniture is a family-owned business with Graham's son Nathan being involved in all aspects of the business. With Graham's background of Industrial Chemistry and Quality Control, and Nathan's background being Engineering, Famous Furniture is better able than most to assess the materials and construction of the furniture they supply. Famous Furniture has been using many of its manufacturers for over 10 years. The directors are active in all aspects of the business and spend extended periods in the Asian region being involved in design, manufacturing methods and quality control. The Famous reputation rests on the quality of the product they supply, a reputation the company works hard to maintain. With over 29 continuous years in the furniture industry, Barrow Investments t/as Famous Furniture, provide guarantees on their products that other importers/manufacturers only wish they could. Increasingly customers see the advantage of using Famous Furniture products in commercial situations.
